The Basic Science Networking Center was established in April 2022 to promote the research achievements and capabilities of Korea’s outstanding basic science researchers on the international stage, and to support their contributions to the advancement of global science.

The Center’s main activities include supporting overseas research visits and collaborative research by Korean scientists, organizing international exchange meetings across various scientific and technological fields, and facilitating the dissemination of basic research outcomes. Through these diverse channels, the Center seeks to create opportunities for Korean researchers to meet and engage with distinguished scholars abroad, while enhancing their international visibility and recognition.

Specifically, the Center supports leading and rising scientists in organizing workshops and symposia with eminent scholars overseas, and promotes academic exchange programs among researchers through visiting research opportunities. In addition, by facilitating strategic and professional global outreach for the research achievements of Korea’s outstanding scientists, the Center aims to broaden international awareness of Korea’s accomplishments in basic science, strengthen the global reputation of Korean researchers, and ultimately contribute to elevating Korea’s national standing through recognition by prestigious international science awards.
